Senior Social Worker - APSN Chaoyang School

Work Location

• APSN Chaoyang School (Ang Mo Kio)

You shall be responsible for individual and group work, assessment and recommendations for financial assistance, crisis and risk management. Conduct casework and manage case consultations.

To be able to supervise entry level SW or Associate SW to facilitate their work and professional growth.

• Assess, plan and provide intervention for students/clients and their families, in partnership with other professionals and school/ centre personnel when required.
• Provide timely progress and termination reports in accordance to the Case Management Review procedures where applicable.

• Provide training for caregivers and teachers in supporting students and families.
• Conduct group work programmes for students in supporting their emotional development and growth.

• Conduct professional assessment (information gathering, home visits) and recommend / apply for subsidies in reference to relevant guidelines.
• Assess and refer students and their families to relevant agencies for support and assistance as deemed appropriate.
• Collaborate with community agencies in service delivery for students/ clients and their families.

• Provide consultation to teachers/ parents of services offered in the Social / Human Services sector. (I.e. VWOs, NCSS etc.).
• Provide consultation to teachers / parents and other professionals on relevant external systems such as social care, healthcare and legal etc. (i.e. general information on hospitals, welfare homes, courts etc.

• A recognised Degree in Social Work or Grad Diploma in Social Work.
• Eligible for professional registration with Singapore Association of Social Worker (SASW) Accreditation Board.
• Minimum 4-5 Years relevant experience in the industry
  .
• Experience working in a similar setting or SPED school will be an advantage.
• Able to handle the demands of the role, along with excellent inter-personal skills and personality composition.
• Excellent communication and ICT skills.
• Able to safeguard personal well-being.
