Job Purpose
The role is responsible for individual and group work, assessment and recommendation for financial assistance, crisis and risk management.
Key ResponsibilitiesTo be able to supervise entry level SW or Associate SW to facilitate their work and professional growth.
Individuals and Families- Assess, plan and provide intervention for students and their families, in partnership with other professionals and school/ centre personnel when required.
- Provide timely progress and termination reports in accordance to the Case Management Review procedures where applicable.
- Provide training for caregivers and teachers in supporting students and families.
- Conduct group work programmes for students in supporting their emotional development and growth.
- Conduct professional assessment (information gathering, home visits) and recommend / apply for subsidies in reference to relevant guidelines.
- Assess and refer students and their families to relevant agencies for support and assistance as deemed appropriate.
- Collaborate with community agencies in service delivery for students/clients and their families.
- Provide consultation to teachers/ parents of services offered in the Social / Human Services sector. (I.e. VWOs, NCSS etc.).
- Provide consultation to teachers / parents and other professionals on relevant external systems such as social care, healthcare and legal etc. (i.e. general information on hospitals, welfare homes, courts etc.)
- A recognised Degree in Social Work or Grad Dip in Social Work.
- Eligible for professional registration with Singapore Association of Social Worker (SASW) Accreditation Board.
- Possess minimum 4-5 years of relevant work experience.
- Possess experience working with persons with mild intellectual disabilities (MID).
- Able to safeguard personal well-being.
- Able to handle the demands of the role, along with excellent ICT skills and personality composition.
- Able to communicate with students, trainees, caregivers and associates of different culture/ backgrounds, preferably conversant in major local dialects (in order to provide consultation to local dialects speaking teachers, parents and students.)
