Controllertoleadandoverseethecompany'saccountingoperations,financial reporting,internal controls,andjobcostaccountingfunctions.

The Senior Controllerwillreportdirectlytothe CFOandplayacriticalroleinmaintainingfinancialintegrity,improvingoperationalefficiencies,andprovidingaccurateandtimelyfinancialinformationtosupportexecutivemanagementandoperationaldecision-making.

Thispositionrequiresahands-onfinancialleaderwithextensiveconstructionaccountingexperience,stronganalyticalcapabilities,andademonstratedabilitytodevelopaccountingteams,implementprocessimprovements,andleveragetechnologytoimprovefinancialperformance.

Theidealcandidatewillunderstandthefinancialcomplexitiesofalargeindustrialconstructionorganizationandpossesstheleadershipskillsnecessarytomaintainahigh-performing,accountableaccountingdepartment.

• • Directalldailyaccountingactivities,includinggeneralledger,accounts payable,accounts receivable,payroll accounting,fixed assets,andfinancialreconciliations.
  • Manage monthly,quarterly,andannualfinancialclosingprocessestoensureaccuracyandtimeliness.
  • Prepareandreviewfinancialstatementsinaccordancewith Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Overseeconstructionrevenuerecognition,work-in-progress(WIP) schedules,andcontractprofitabilityreporting.
  • Ensureproperaccountingforaccruedexpenses,prepaid expenses,equipment costs,andintercompanytransactions.
  • Coordinatefinancialaudits,tax reporting,andinteractionswithexternalaccountingprofessionals.
  • ProvidetheCFOwithaccuratefinancialanalysis,management reporting,and recommendations.

• • Overseeprojectaccountingandjobcostreportingacrossindustrialconstructionandmaintenanceoperations.
  • Ensureaccurateallocationoflabor,equipment,materials,subcontractor expenses,andoverheadtoindividualprojects.
  • Monitorprojectbudgets,coststocomplete,estimated margins,andfinancialperformance.
  • Partnerwithprojectmanagersandoperationsleadershiptoidentifycostoverruns,margin erosion,andpotentialfinancialrisks.
  • Overseeprojectbilling,changeorderaccounting,retainage,unbilledreceivables,andrevenuerecognition.
  • Developreportingproceduresthatprovidemanagementwithtimelyvisibilityintoprojectprofitability.
  • Ensureaccuratereconciliationbetweenjobcostsystemsandthegeneralledger.

• • Overseeaccountsreceivable,accounts payable,andcashmanagementprocesses.
  • Monitorbillingcycles,collections,payment schedules,andworkingcapitalrequirements.
  • Prepareandmaintainshort-termcashflowforecastsforreviewwiththeCFO.
  • Identifyopportunitiestoimprovecashconversion,reduceoutstandingreceivables,andstrengthenworkingcapital.
  • Monitorunderbillings,over billings,retainage,andagingreceivables.
  • SupporttheCFOinpreparingfinancialinformationforbanksandlenders.

• • Overseetheeffectiveutilizationof Sage,Miter,andotherfinancialmanagementsystems.
  • Ensureaccurateintegrationofpayroll,accounts receivable,accounts payable,general ledger,andjobcostingdata.
  • Identifyandeliminateunnecessarymanualaccountingprocesses.
  • Implementautomationandtechnologysolutionstoimproveefficiency,accuracy,andreportingcapabilities.
  • Developfinancialdashboardsandstandardizedmanagementreports.
  • EvaluateopportunitiestouseAIandmodernfinancialtechnologieswithinaccountingoperations.
  • Establishproceduresthatensuredataintegrity,system security,andappropriatefinancialcontrols.

• • Develop,implement,andmaintaincomprehensiveaccountingpoliciesandprocedures.
  • Establishstronginternalcontrolstosafeguardcompanyassetsandminimizefinancialrisk.
