This is the fourth level of the non-Engineer degreed technical support role job classification and considered the career level for the job hierarchy. Senior Engineering Technologists provide technical expertise to solve more complex problems and use leadership skills to manage work in a specific area of expertise with minimal supervision.
The DCS Engineer Technologist will work at the site, within the station's technical team and provide direct support to plant operations and maintenance, primarily through troubleshooting, problem solving, and technical recommendations for assigned plant systems and equipment. The successful candidate will also participate in capital improvement and maintenance projects as required.
Responsibilities- Provide subject matter technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems in the area of expertise.
- Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches related to well-defined problems and analyses of moderate scope and complexity.
- Ensure accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities.
- Strive to continually improve job-related, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.
- Develop positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities across various groups.
- Support the company's goals and represent the company positively and professionally.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to fellow Engineers and Engineering Technologists.
- Associate in Engineering Technology.
- Minimum six years related experience.
- Alternatively, a high school diploma/GED and eight years related experience.
- Good working knowledge of Emerson Ovation Control System.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot instrumentation and control system issues.
- Good understanding of NERC Cyber Security requirements for low impact sites.
- Experience in the utility industry.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology.
- Demonstrates skills applying leadership in the areas of technical project management, program oversight, and/or governance.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Onsite Mobility Classification – Work will be performed at a company facility.
Travel Requirements: 5-15%.
