Operations Manager - Flexographics Print

The Operations Manager is primarily responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the activities of Flexo graphic printing, slitting and other packaging converting operations in a labels manufacturing facility.

• Lead, coach, mentor, motivate and inspire direct reports to achieve an optimum level of performance by consistently demonstrating role model behavior.
• Plan and direct Flexo graphic printing, slitting and other packaging converting operations in a labels manufacturing facility.
• Coordinate production activities with warehouse, procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of machines and equipment.
• Conduct Daily Production meetings.
• Review and analyze quality, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or printing production problems.
• Compile, distribute, evaluate, and act on printing production metrics.
• Consult with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve quality of printed product.
• Identify and develop continuous improvements to printing processes with the supervisors.
• Ensure process corrective actions are addressed in a timely manner and are effective, including conducting audits of effectiveness.
• Ensure that supervisors are aware of and adhere to plant safety rules and regulations. Work with the supervisors to develop a safety culture with zero accidents/incidents.
• Ensure that equipment is maintained and operated in a safe manner.
• Maintain a clean environment that enhances plant safety.
• Ensure that employees know and understand customer and quality requirements and standards.
• Set the quality direction to maintain production throughput while meeting/exceeding quality requirements.
• Maintain employee awareness and adherence to ISO standards and procedures.
• Lead successful output of site production operations and achievement of operational goals.
• Set goals for employees throughout and/or department standards.
• Evaluate and provide training as needed, setting in place a long‑term training strategy.
• Evaluate equipment needs and propose changes to meet site objectives.
• Assign employees to work schedules, and work centers, and plan appropriate levels based on production needs and capacity.
• Troubleshoot processes and/or procedures.
• Review site operations goals with department employees.
• Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports in a timely manner. Recommend increases in compensation in accordance with pre‑determined guidelines.
• Ensure that all aspects of the Quality Policy and Objectives, as well as OSHA rules and regulations, are understood and enacted.
• Participate in and satisfactorily complete all required training programs for the assigned position.
• Perform other duties assigned by management representatives within the scope of responsibility and the requirements of the job.

• Prior Printing, Labels, Packaging experience is required.
• Bachelor degree with 7 years of related work experience.
• Excellent interpersonal communications skills are required as well as personal computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Excel, Mail, Word, PowerPoint and the use of Internet Explorer.
• Flexo graphic printing experience required.
• Knowledge of labels, packaging and printing industry required.

RRD's current salary range for this role is $87,200 to $139,600 year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future.…
