AboutThe Role
We’re looking for a Live Broadcast & Video Control Room Director to serve as the director of live productions who will manage the control room activities like giving instructions to the camera operators and technical crew, make decisions about camera feeds, audio, and on‑screen graphics, and direct what appears on screen. You’ll lead our internal video function, build a best‑in‑class live video production capability, and oversee the production of our webinars and product launches while setting the creative standard for our brand and customer videos.
This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who has experience directing video productions and is equally skilled at calling a live broadcast as they are at shaping the story in post.
- Lead live production: Be fully in charge of our live capabilities and control room operations end to end: lead on‑stage execution, call live switches, manage audio/lighting setups, stream workflows, remote speakers, and contingency plans so every broadcasted event runs seamlessly.
- Webinars (live and recorded): Direct production quality and audience experience so every webinar feels premium. Work with the post team to turn live sessions into a growing library of recorded assets and clips.
- Product Launches: Partner with Product, Growth, and Marketing to shape launch video strategy, from story to live announcement to follow‑up content, with a premium look and feel from day one.
- Brand marketing video: Set creative direction for campaigns, customer stories, and social content, and direct key shoots yourself.
- Visual Direction: Define the visual style across all productions, including framing, composition, lens choice, camera movement, and overall look.
- Camera, Lighting & Crew: Plan and supervise camera and lighting setups, exposure, and image quality, and coordinate camera, lighting, and grip crews for visual consistency.
- Team leadership: Lead the video team with clear direction, strong creative standards, and efficient workflows.
- Studio & Technical operations: Keep the studio production‑ready, including equipment use, maintenance, inventory, and compliance with studio and safety standards.
- Systems & standards: Build repeatable workflows, templates, style guides, and equipment standards so quality holds as volume grows and last‑minute fixes become the exception.
- Measure & improve: Track performance across live and recorded content and use it to shape the roadmap.
- 7+ years in video production including 3+ years leading teams or a live production function
- Proven track record calling the shots in live broadcast environments and control rooms: stage direction, multi-camera switching, audio mixing, and streaming major events
- Experience with live production tools and platforms (e.g., ATEM, vMix, OBS, Stream Yard, Zoom Events, or similar) and the ability to specify, buy, and set up a live production environment
- A strong portfolio showing live work as well as polished, story‑driven content
- Solid understanding of the post‑production…
