Job Purpose
We are seeking an Application Specialist to ensure the creation and delivery of optimal value for the customer, by matching our Total Solutions Offer to the customer needs, in line with both company strategy and LBP (Local Business Plan). The main task involves understanding customers' needs in metalworking, as well as educating customers, prospects, and distributors of Sandvik Coromant’s products and capabilities.
It is essential for the applications specialist to effectively provide detailed information on various products, programs or services offered by Sandvik Coromant, but also clearly and effectively communicate what the customer needs back to the Sandvik Coromant Team.
- Fulfill total delivery of technical solution and provide sales support to end-customers and distributors in close cooperation with Account Managers to grow share of wallet, maintain, strengthen and develop customers, and ensure that agreed priorities in the Account Plans and Customer Value Plans are implemented.
- Recommend products and services that fit well with clients’ business needs during solution offer with Account Managers.
- Work in close cooperation with customers to improve efficiency and productivity in their production (Manufacturing Wellness) and support sales activities by thorough analysis of customer’s technical needs and pain‑points.
- Develop test applications used for testing modules, including customer‑specific components.
- Implement projects and secure closing them with an order.
- Develop and deliver training to external partners and customers on the features of their purchase.
- Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve technical problems that arise during or after implementation.
- Coordinate and organize interaction between technical and commercial departments of the company, and relevant distributor services for projects in the Sales department.
- Act as ambassador for driving new ways of working and future technology within the expertise field to ensure customers’ needs are fulfilled and profitable business is gained for Sandvik Coromant.
- Ensure that pipelines are worked on and support in closing pipelines.
- Support Sales Management in providing accurate forecasts, budgets and targets, and maintain the Sales Pipeline Management in CRM system “Dynamics 365”.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or relevant fields.
- Minimum 5 years of proven expertise in cutting tools and machining applications in automotive, aerospace and general engineering components, with deep knowledge of manufacturing processes in metal cutting and their optimization.
- Experience in managing complex technical projects end‑to‑end and skill in building collaborative relationships that drive customer value.
- Good knowledge of CAD/CAM systems and digital machining tools is an advantage.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Turkish.
- Military service must be completed (for male candidates only).
- High willingness to travel without any restrictions.
- Valid driving license class
