Job SummaryConstruction Engineer - Managerial role responsible for planning, execution, and completion of solar construction projects. Duties include project coordination, material procurement, permit management, quality control, and direct support to project-based staff and trades. Ensures safety, environmental stewardship, and effective communication with stakeholders.
Reports to Senior Director of Construction. Position is project-based assignment with hybrid working hours Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm local time. Overtime and weekend work required as needed. Travel up to 100% may be required. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. No visa sponsorship available.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities- Oversee and manage project deliverables ensuring compliance with timelines and standards.
- Lead procurement processes and coordinate engineering solutions with project personnel.
- Acquire and maintain permits in adherence to project specifications.
- Enhance team collaboration and communication across all stakeholders.
- Supervise generation and organization of project reports and technical documents.
- Provide operational support to superintendents, including timekeeping, resource allocation, and quality management.
- Lead safety initiatives, conduct job hazard analyses, and promote safe work practices.
- Enforce environmental policies by training and certifying field staff.
- Champion professional development of Field Engineers through training and certifications.
- Maintain professional relationships with third parties and meet client expectations.
- Attend regularly in accordance with company attendance policy.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or related field and at least 2 years construction experience.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in related field.
- Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with construction scheduling, CPM logic, and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to support development, planning, installation, and execution of projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel full-time.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Regular attendance in accordance with company policy.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
- Walk or move continuously while carrying up to 50 lbs of tools and/or materials; assistance recommended for items over 50 lbs.
- Stand or walk for long periods and work extended hours on uneven surfaces.
- Perform repetitive movements and maintain full range of motion.
- Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shop.
- Uneven ground level.
- Obstructed pathways.
- Low and/or high elevations.
- Confined areas.
- Predominantly outdoor.
- Exposure to extreme heat or cold.
- High humidity, rain, etc.
- Noise from tools, machinery, equipment.
- Potential chemical exposure and hazardous equipment.
