The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for those affected by mental health conditions. We are currently recruiting presenters for our Ending the Silence program. Ending the Silence is a 50-minute presentation on signs and symptoms of mental illness designed to change misconceptions and “end the silence” surrounding mental health.
It gives participants information and first-hand accounts from two presenters.
NAMI IOWA is seeking individuals over the age of 18 who are comfortable with public speaking and have a connection to mental illness (through yourself or a friend/family member) to fill two different types of presenter roles –
1) lead presenter (over 18 to lead the PowerPoint presentation using personal experience) and
2) young adult (between the ages of 18-35 to speak about their story after the PowerPoint). Given the novel coronavirus, presentations may occur either virtually or in-person. Incentives are offered for presenters.
