Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach individual violin/viola lessons for both music majors and non-music majors.
• Teach courses in string instruction/pedagogy and string literature as needed.
• Assist in advising students with a string pedagogy emphasis.
• Assist violin/viola students in preparing recitals and other performances.
• Serve as the strings area coordinator.
• Participate in music department activities and meetings.
• Assist with the recruitment and retention of music students, particularly violin/viola students.

Academic Qualifications

• Applicants must possess at least an accredited Master’s Degree in Violin Performance and/or pedagogy. Doctorate preferred.
• Applicants should have experience in teaching violin and/or viola at the collegiate level.
• Applicants should have experience in solo playing both in church and concert settings.
