An Structural Engineer must be detail oriented, open to learning, and have a structural design background. They must be working towards their SE or PE license. They will perform calculations, assist with the production of structural drawings in Revit, write evaluations and reports, and participate in job site observations. A Structural Engineer will have the ability to accurately and efficiently design structural steel, concrete, and foundations for ag and industrial projects under the direction of a Sr.
Structural Engineer using hand calculations and a variety of design software. This role profile is subject to change at any time.

- Consider the safety of Keen Project Solutions construction personnel, the customer, operators, subcontractors, and the general public in project design per OSHA, MSHA, IBC, IFC, NFPA 101, or other applicable regulatory requirements for all scopes of work.
- Research and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and municipal codes, permits, and standards relying upon proper expertise and resources internally and externally.
- Work closely with internal and external project partners, engineers, and other professionals to develop project technical parameters and scope.
- Integrate new technology or environmentally friendly practices into existing processes.
- Consider safety, manufacturability, constructability, potential failures, customer usage, functionality, and efficiency during the design process.
- Performs code compliant hand calculations to verify member capacities, connection forces, and load paths for steel, concrete, and miscellaneous support structures.
- Uses structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, STAAD, RAM, or equivalent) to model systems, evaluate load combinations, and confirm design assumptions.
- Sizes beams, columns, bracing, and support components based on dead, live, wind, seismic, and equipment loads, ensuring alignment with project criteria.
- Validates software outputs through independent engineering judgment, cross checks, and simplified analytical methods.
- Develops sketches, markups, and calculation packages that clearly communicate design intent to internal teams, fabricators, and third party engineers.
- Applies AISC, ASCE 7, ACI, and manufacturer data to determine allowable stresses, deflection limits, and connection requirements.
- Evaluates existing structures and proposed modifications using both field measurements and analytical methods to confirm adequacy or identify required reinforcement.
