Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
We are currently seeking a full‑time Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in Ankeny, Iowa. To qualify, candidates must have or be eligible for an Iowa CTRS license. This role delivers recreation therapy within a transdisciplinary team serving individuals with brain injuries and neurological conditions.
Position Highlights- Schedule:
Monday‑Friday (rotating weekends & holidays) - Hours:
8:00‑4:30 PM (may also require rotating evenings) - Location:
Ankeny, Iowa
- Assess individual leisure and recreational interests for persons served.
- Develop and implement individualized and group recreation therapy interventions.
- Facilitate activities within the facility and in the community.
- Coordinate evening/weekend programs and special events.
- Complete documentation including assessments, goals, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Collaborate closely with the transdisciplinary rehabilitation team to support holistic recovery.

- Must be available for rotating holiday shifts & every 3rd weekend shifts (unless weekend‑only)
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) in Iowa
- Experience in Recreation Therapy
- Experience working with individuals with brain injuries or neurological conditions
- Strong communication, documentation, and educational skills
