Adamson Insurance & Associates is hiring a Commercial Lines Service Specialist to help our business clients with their insurance service needs. You’ll handle requests, maintain accurate records and coordinate with clients, insurance companies and teammates to keep work moving.

You do not need an insurance license to apply. We can train you in insurance procedures and help you develop the knowledge needed for the position. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly and is willing to learn.

• Respond to commercial client requests by phone and email.
• Assist commercial clients with billing questions, take and process payments, prepare and send invoices, and coordinate billing-plan changes.
• Prepare certificates of insurance, which provide proof of a business’s coverage.
• Process assigned policy changes and follow up with insurance companies.
• Gather missing information and coordinate underwriting requests.
• Help prepare assigned commercial quotes for the teammate presenting them to the client.
• Keep client records, request status and next steps accurate in our agency software.
• Review pending work, follow up on outstanding items and ask for help before a deadline is missed.
• Confirm that work is complete before closing a request.

• You can organize several requests with different deadlines.
• You communicate calmly and respectfully, including when someone is frustrated.
• You follow written procedures and accept coaching.
• You are comfortable using computers, email and phone systems, and learning new software.
• You follow through on commitments and tell your manager when something needs attention.
• You show up reliably and are ready to work on time.

Customer service, administrative or insurance experience is helpful. Strong examples from other work are welcome.

Clients receive clear responses and dependable follow-up. Requests are handled accurately and on time, records explain what happened, and unfinished work always has a clear next step.

This position pays $22 per hour and works in our Ankeny office Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. This is an in-office position.
