Order Picker – B&G Foods Inc.
Shift: 3rd Shift (3:30 pm – 12:00 am, Monday–Friday). Overtime required on Saturday and/or Sunday, daily shift overtime as needed.
Hourly Rate: $22.26/hour + $0.55/hour shift differential.
PrimaryJob Responsibilities
- Pick finished products from storage racks for customer orders accurately, efficiently and maintaining product quality.
- Work safely to prevent injuries by following company and OSHA safety regulations.
- Perform various functions within the pick module.
- Send orders down the conveyor to be wrapped and watch for/correct jams.
- Prepare orders for shipment by palletizing, wrapping or boxing products, printing, and attaching labels.
- Place packing slip/prebills and other required documentation on orders.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Change and charge batteries.
- Perform accurate and timely inventory transactions using a computer or RF device.
- Keep work area clean and remove waste and products from floor.
- Remove shrink‑wrap and cardboard from pallets before picking.
- Place materials in proper locations.
- Assist with training new and current Order Pickers as directed.
- Build and assemble pre‑packs and pallet displays per instructions.
- Perform case counts on completed customer orders if directed.
- Assist supervisor with inventory functions when directed.
- Report inventory discrepancies to supervisor or auditor immediately.
- Place damaged and partial cases in designated location for recoup.
- Complete necessary paperwork accurately and timely.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Operate material‑moving equipment safely and conscientiously.
- Perform basic math operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Work productively as part of a team.
- Work at a rapid pace for continuous periods.
- Organize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Handle diverse backgrounds and viewpoints effectively.
- Communicate courteously and cooperatively with plant personnel.
- Basic computer keyboarding skills.

- Work at other work centers where qualifications allow.
- Commitment to high‑quality workmanship standards.
- High school diploma or GED.
- On‑site training specific to job responsibilities.
- Must obtain forklift and Order Picker certifications.
- Pass Order Picker Qualification Checklist (deadline to be established by company).
Personal protective equipment (PPE) required; training on use provided at hire.
Respirator use requires physical examination before performing related work.
Food Safety Quality and Function (SQF)- Report any food safety and quality problems.
- Follow cGMP’s and maintain cleanliness.
- Follow appropriate cleaning procedures.
- Ensure pallets are clean and in good repair.
Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing plant environment, around moving mechanical parts and motorized vehicles.
- May be exposed to varying temperatures.
- Lift to 50 lb; may be required to work at heights up to 30 ft.
