RN/Director of Nursing $5k Sign on Bonus (Full Time)

Location:

Ankeny, Iowa

Salary Range: $80,000-$90,000

Sign on Bonus: $5,000

Shift

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Manager on Duty Weekend Rotation 10am-2pm

We are looking for someone who can direct and maintain exceptional quality of care for all residents, provide oversight and training to Wellness staff, and ensure high standards of service to residents, families, and visitors. The role also includes compliance, budgeting, coordination of medication management, and leadership within Arrow Senior Living’s Rock Creek Senior Living community.

Responsibilities
  • Direct and maintain exceptional quality of care for all residents.
  • Provide oversight, training, motivation, and team building to Wellness staff.
  • Provide exceptional service to residents, families, and visitors.
  • Oversee department compliance and budget and ensure Wellness operates according to state guidelines and Arrow policies.
  • Present a professional demeanor that communicates the corporate philosophy of service, goodwill, dignity, respect, celebration, and choice in each resident’s needs.
  • Oversee care companions and medication technicians; coordinate medication management.
  • Ensure outstanding and appropriate care is delivered while adhering to community policy, regulation, and law.
  • Chart resident notes appropriately and review end of shift notes; record new/changed physician orders.
  • Maintain healthcare provider relations; perform resident assessments and appraisals of resident needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; respond to medical emergencies; monitor and record changes in residents.
  • Maintain current and accurate resident charts; assist in scheduling medical appointments and maintain a medical appointment calendar.
  • Work with the Resident Services Director to implement activities and report regularly to the Executive Director.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with physicians; implement staff training programs (including dementia-specific training in conjunction with Memory Care Director).
  • Train staff using appropriate materials; participate in community surveys; meet with families/residents during admissions.
  • Ensure rooms are ready for new residents; report elder abuse or neglect as required by policy.
  • Communicate and collaborate with physicians, pharmacies, and community staff; maintain service plans and supervision appropriate to residents’ needs.
  • Assist in maintaining an effective medication regulation and law compliance.
Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing within the state of employment.
  • At least two years of experience in resident care in assisted living.
  • Thorough working knowledge of current care standards, regulations, and medication regulation/law.
  • Experience in hands-on care of memory-impaired residents; ability to supervise care staff.
  • Ability to communicate with physicians, pharmacies, families, and community staff.
  • Good health and ability to perform assigned tasks; health screening verified by a physician within 6 months prior to or 7 days after employment; freedom from tuberculosis within 7 days of employment.
  • Criminal background clearance by DOJ and FBI; clean driving record as per insurance policy.
