Sr. IT Engineer – Commerce Integration Platform
Casey's is seeking a Senior IT Engineer to build and maintain the framework enabling transaction data to flow seamlessly from our stores to the rest of the company. This involves ensuring the integrity, reliability, and performance of transaction pipelines that support enterprise-wide reporting, analytics, and operational decision‑making.
You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to design and implement services that connect store‑level systems with enterprise platforms, ensuring real‑time visibility and data consistency across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and test integrations between internal systems and third‑party point‑of‑sale and payments platforms.
- Develop and support highly complex existing legacy and batch solutions, and contribute to the development of new technical solutions by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement.
- Contribute to and maintain a roadmap that facilitates application software development and ensures the work is prioritized in line with business requirements.
- Monitor, identify, assess, and correct software problems to maintain fully functioning applications.
- Proactively learn engineering and business industry best practices and apply them to daily work.
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated unit tests to ensure solution quality.
- Research and suggest improvements that increase the quality of the technical solution and supporting infrastructure.
- Provide support to business units and processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent years of related experience.
- At least five (5) years of experience building and maintaining technical solutions in a business environment (experience with legacy code a plus).
- Thorough understanding of .Net/C#, web development, and full‑stack engineering using MS SQL Server.
- Experience with supporting and enhancing legacy and batch solutions (Power Shell, , VB Script, etc).
- Knowledge and experience working in Azure and Azure Dev Ops.
- Hands‑on experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrates initiative and thrives working independently with minimal supervision, while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Effectively prioritizes and organizes tasks to maximize productivity, ensuring exceptional attention to detail.
- Skilled at identifying problems, analyzing and evaluating information, and developing effective solutions.
Authorization to work in the U.S. is required;
Casey's will not sponsor employment‑based visas. Onsite work required at Casey's Store Support Center in Ankeny, IA, with relocation expected for out‑of‑state candidates. Starting pay range: $101,700–$139,800, with eligibility for annual cash bonuses and additional growth opportunities.
