Contingent Trauma, Acute, and Critical Care Surgeon Trinity Health IHA Medical Group - Ann Arbor, Michigan
Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a contingent Trauma, Acute, and Critical Care Surgeon to join our well‑established, high‑acuity multi‑specialty group located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Board Certification is required.
This position is structured as a contingency‑based, as‑needed clinical role to provide coverage during rare but essential periods. While the need for coverage is expected to be infrequent, it will typically involve non‑consecutive 7‑day intervals when required.
This opportunity requires a highly experienced surgeon who is seeking intermittent, well‑defined clinical engagements rather than a full‑time operative schedule. This role is particularly well‑suited for an individual with established local availability, who can reliably provide short‑term surgical coverage during designated periods, often on short notice.
Position Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive care in Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency General Surgery.
- Participate in the education and supervision of General Surgery Residents and Surgical Critical Care Fellows.
- Contribute to trauma system performance improvement and administrative functions related to trauma center verification.
- Opportunities for additional General Surgery practice may be available, if desired.
- Accredited residency programs in General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, and Emergency Medicine.
- Supported fellowships in Surgical Critical Care and Vascular Surgery.
- A multidisciplinary trauma care program with a strong focus on continuous performance improvement, clinical education, and quality outcomes across the full spectrum of trauma services from prevention through rehabilitation.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly experienced surgeon to contribute meaningfully to a leading trauma program in a flexible, contingent capacity, while maintaining autonomy in other areas of professional practice.
Qualifications- Board Certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care (or Board Eligible in both).
- Extensive experience in Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency General Surgery.
- Strong commitment to clinical excellence, research, and teaching of residents and fellows.
- Ability to support ongoing trauma verification and administrative duties.
