Hardware Engineer II - EV Cluster

We are seeking a skilled Hardware Design Engineer to develop and integrate hardware for an automotive 2-wheeler EV cluster. The role involves designing power, display, sensor, and connectivity interfaces around a high-performance System-on-Module (SoM), ensuring compliance with automotive standards, and validating prototypes through rigorous testing.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and review schematics and PCB layouts for the cluster hardware (SoM carrier board, display, sensors, connectivity, power).

Develop and validate power supply architecture (12V vehicle input → regulated rails).

Integrate modules including WiFi/Bluetooth, LTE/GNSS, CAN transceiver, IMU sensors, and USB ports.

Implement ESD/EMI/thermal protection strategies and coordinate with heat-sink design.

Work with LVDS TFT display, CPT (capacitive touch panel), and other key components.

Perform prototype bring-up, hardware validation, and debugging.

Support software team during BSP and driver integration.

Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electronics/Electrical/Embedded Systems Engineering.

3–6 years of experience in embedded hardware design, with at least 2 years in automotive cluster hardware development.

Hands‑on with high-speed PCB design (DDR, LVDS, MIPI, USB, Ethernet).

Experience with power supply design (DC‑DC converters, LDOs).

Familiarity with automotive standards (CAN, LIN, EMI/EMC).

Experience with test equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer).

Strong documentation and component selection skills.

Good to Have:

Prior experience with NXP i.MX series SOM/SBC.

Experience with automotive-grade modules (LTE/GNSS, IMUs).

Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262 basics).

The three Co‑Founders have done their Masters in Automotive Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, and have worked for various Automotive companies in India and the USA and are now determined to create something exciting in the EV space.

The company was started in November, 2022 and is now rapidly expanding. We, at Arbor Mobility are trying to answer the basic question of how to increase the adoption of EVs in India. EV usage is a paradigm shift in consumer behaviour. It requires us to think how to tackle the issues such as charging, range anxiety & safety for a consumer.
