Our Virtual Data & Design Team is looking for a Senior Structural Designer to support our Advanced Power Generation space. The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Structural Experience (Steel and Foundation)
• Bentley Open Building
• Autodesk AutoCAD
• Bentley Microstation Experience 2D/3D
• Bluebeam

Functions as a senior engineering technician, technical design specialist and/or supervisor. Applies advanced technical expertise to address complex design challenges, typically within a specific engineering discipline, and contributes to the development of innovative engineering solutions. Utilizes digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) in conjunction with standardized procedures to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.

In addition to hands‑on design and production responsibilities, this role provides consultation, training, and oversight to other engineering technicians to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to project standards.

Communicate and set appropriate design and graphic standards. Review project requirements and accurately determine the correct format and contents of the required deliverables. Promote quality within project/group/section. Review design inputs to ensure consistency. Assist in ensuring deliverables are in compliance with the specific codes and standards in force for the project. Contribute to the continuous improvement of guides and standards. Lead process improvement activities and assignments.

Responsible for drawing control and historical records, utilizing the appropriate method as established by the project. Demonstrate personal accuracy and drive continual improvement and change management efforts. Apply basic engineering principles and established design practices in developing complex design concepts and deliverables. Make decisions with respect to deliverables and input interpretation. Handle difficult technical assignments within an area of expertise and provide technical guidance to other professionals.

Perform design calculations, detailed material quantities and estimates, and records. Review the deliverables of others. Coordinate presentation, delegate production design, or other electronic applications. Monitor production to assure consistency, budget and schedule of the deliverables. Program control systems or participate in plant start‑up activities associated with a specialized area of expertise. Coordinate with other design group personnel to review and exchange project information necessary for design development.
