We currently have an opportunity for an Environmental Data Scientist to join our growing Engineering, Construction and Remediation Practice in Ann Arbor, MI. The position includes working with a multi‑disciplinary team on a variety of environmental projects applying data management, data interpretations, and statistical evaluation support along with developing visualizations and infographics for various site investigation, groundwater monitoring, and remediation projects.

This position will involve collaboration across TRC while participating in local project teams.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, team‑oriented individual with at least 2‑6 years of data science and/or environmental industry‑related experience.

Initial responsibilities will be commensurate with experience and capability and will include data analytics applied to engineering and geological interpretation of environmental data using a broad range data management systems and software applications, collaboration on sampling analysis plans, quality assurance project plans, and statistical evaluation plans and implementation of those plans through data processing, data reduction, and statistical analysis to support data‑driven decision making.

Project data includes field documentation, field‑collected data, laboratory analytical data for a variety of environmental media, and geological and geotechnical information.

Opportunities to contribute will focus on developing workflows and dashboards and integration of digital tools to compile and interpret data against various regulatory standards and prepare report‑ready data tables, charts, figures and other visualizations and infographics using a variety of tools.

  • Compile, organize, and configure environmental datasets within the Earth Soft’s EQuIS data management platform to support project objectives.
  • Support geologic and engineering interpretations and the preparation of reports and visual materials using a variety of tools to effectively communicate findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
