OverviewTRC has an immediate opening for a Project Geochemist within our Engineering, Construction and Remediation business. This position requires expertise in Chemistry/Geochemistry, with a strong emphasis on geochemical principles governing inorganic geochemistry. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of these principles and their application to environmental site‑condition assessments, development of conceptual site models, and assessment and implementation of effective corrective measures.

This position may work remotely from anywhere within the US or report to a local TRC office.
Responsibilities- Provide geochemical support to large multidisciplinary project teams throughout the US, focusing on the characterisation and assessment of inorganic constituents in the environment.
- Collaborate with TRC staff and project teams, summarise technical findings, manage and analyse environmental data, contribute to conceptual site models, and assist in the planning and execution of geochemical field programmes at remediation sites.
- Perform geochemical studies, develop and guide investigations.
- Compile, reduce, analyse, visualise, manage, and report geochemical data, using data‑management software and tools such as PHREEQC and Geochemist’s Workbench.
- Have a significant role in developing expertise to position TRC as a leader in our industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Geology/Geochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Hydrogeology, or related fields.
- 5‑10 years of experience performing and managing environmental projects focused on metals and inorganic geochemistry.
- Experience with modelling using tools such as PHREEQC and Geochemist’s Workbench.
- Experience with data visualisation tools and advanced analytical platforms.
- Have a conceptual understanding of fate and transport mechanisms for inorganic constituents in the environment.
- Knowledge of geochemical principles that control groundwater chemistry relevant to in organics.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills applicable to project team, regulatory agencies, and public interactions in a dynamic and fast‑moving environment. Possess strong verbal, written, presentation, and client‑management skills.
- Must have extensive experience with presentations, document development and review, effective personal communications (oral, written, computer), and project leadership.
