Job SummaryOur client in Ann Arbor, MI is looking for a Thermal Aero Modeler. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do- Build and maintain full vehicle models for Aero and Thermal development. Receive input from the lead engineers and run the related cases in STAR CCM+, summarizing the results and negotiating with designers as needed.
- Support physical testing including data analysis and reporting.
- Design experiments to optimize Aero and Thermal designs for current and future projects.
- Lead efforts in collaboration with the Aero‑Thermal team to design counter‑measures for performance gaps identified by physical and simulated tests.
- Work within and contribute to cross‑disciplinary teams to find collaborative solutions to common design issues.
- Participate in, support, and contribute to work‑place safety culture and activities.
- Other tasks as assigned by management.
- 3‑5 years in CFD modeling experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- ANSA:
Proficiency in ANSA for part and model preparation for use in CFD simulations. - STAR CCM+:
Proficiency in STAR CCM+ model building, running cases, analyzing results and providing feedback to designers. - Programming:
Knowledge of Python, MATLAB, or similar for data analysis.
- Background in automotive design or evaluation.
