The Opportunity

Tetra Tech is seeking a Structural Engineer, PE, to join our dynamic team. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely or from one of our offices in Ann Arbor, MI, Orlando, FL, Louisville, KY, Lexington, KY or New York, NY. The successful candidate will work with diverse Tetra Tech team members in the delivery of company project initiatives related to structural engineering.

Your Role
  • Lead teams of Structural Engineers and Designers for larger projects, interface with clients throughout the design and construction process.
  • Deliver quality projects on time and within budget.
  • Mentor and guide junior Engineers.
  • Prepare, check, and review design calculations of structural systems.
  • Write forensic and investigation reports.
  • Define the structural system by modeling in Revit according to local and State Codes, as well as Federal Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) guidelines.
  • Utilize advanced structural engineering software tools (RISA software experience preferred).
  • Participate in Construction Administration activities when required by the project.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required; master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required;
    Professional Structural Engineer (SE) desired but not required.
  • 6+ years of related experience as a Structural Engineer.
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Experience in the design of structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, aluminum, and cold‑formed steel.
  • Experience with designing structures located in geographical areas prone to hurricanes and high seismicity is a plus.
  • Proficiency with structural engineering design software such as RISA 3D.
  • Willingness to learn Revit if not already known.
