Project Manager - Substation and Transmission

Overview

Project Manager - Substation and Transmission at Black & Veatch. This role focuses on managing transmission and substation projects, including HV, MV, LV, underground and overhead transmission lines, with potential involvement in distribution, private networks, and BESS. Travel to project sites is expected up to 10%.

• Actively promote the safety culture.
• Respond to RFPs and prepare proposals for services work.
• Lead project team in conceptual design and procurement phases of substation projects.
• Manage schedule, budget, and scope of services projects.
• Interface between the client, external stakeholders, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Ability to work in both a corporate and field environment.

Act as a project manager with responsibility for managing a project team, the composition of which may vary by project.

• 10+ years of relevant industry experience including high-voltage, medium-voltage, and low-voltage substations.
• Experience in multiple phases of project execution.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant field.
• PE, P.Eng or equivalent professional license.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (e.g., background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search) as applicable by law and regulation.

• Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days, based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments.
• Typical office and construction environments with safety hazards, exposure to weather, noise, chemicals, and other conditions. Ability to sit, walk, read, write, keyboard, drive, and lift up to 40 pounds.
