As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will function as a Technical Specialist or Project Lead, providing guidance and expertise to project teams in the design and operation of nuclear power plant facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Define and engage on project schedules for single or multiple disciplines.
- Lead creation of complex engineering deliverables, including electrical drawings, calculations, specifications, and bills of materials.
- Prepare and review one‑line/three‑line diagrams, motor schematics, breaker control schematics, wiring diagrams, power cable sizing, and cable schedules.
- Perform advanced engineering calculations such as load flow, short circuit, motor starting (ETAP or SKM), arc flash analysis (ETAP or SKM), protective relay settings, and battery/charger sizing.
- Develop equipment specifications, BOMs, man‑hour budgets, and project schedules.
- Attend on‑site meetings, investigate existing conditions, interface with clients, and support construction activities.
- Utilize Microsoft Office, Project Wise, AutoCAD, EQ, and electrical engineering software to view and manipulate project files.
- Apply and ensure compliance with Black & Veatch quality program, engineering codes, and B&V policies.
- Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders, defining client interests and communicating them to the project team.
- Act as technical specialist, supporting multiple projects on complex technical challenges and representing the company in professional societies.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in Kansas, or state of primary residence.
- Project Lead experience and technical SME in nuclear plant design.
- Experience designing nuclear or industrial power plant facilities, or similar power generation infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 11 years of related work experience.
- Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding, including background checks, as required.
