As an Entry Level Structural (Transmission Line) Engineer at Black & Veatch, you will play a meaningful role in addressing some of the world’s most critical infrastructure challenges. Chosen candidates will be located in or relocate to Ann Arbor (MI) or Bloomington (MN).
Key Responsibilities Engineering Standards- Develop familiarity by reading, understanding and applying departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black & Veatch policies and procedures
- Develop an understanding and comply with the Black & Veatch quality program
- Support continuous improvement and change management efforts
- Contribute to preparation of less complex engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope
- Perform routine research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection
- Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work
- Prepare basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles used in similar engineering analysis
- Understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements
- Share information with others as requested
- Coordinate with others when directed by supervisor or project leadership
- Focus on the needs of internal clients (project team leadership) while gaining a basic understanding of external client interests and drivers
- May provide support to business development or pursuit activities

Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program in the candidate’s home country or their country of practice. All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Work Environment/Physical DemandsHybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
Salary PlanAnnual compensation range: $78,803.00 – $92,402.00.
