Foundational Team Member – Job Description

Position Title: Foundational Team Member

Department: START

Reports to: START Team Manager

Pay Grade: $15.00 per hour

Status: Regular, Full Time or Part Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary & Purpose of Position

Gold Star Mortgage Financial Group offers a 2.5 month rotational program designed to expose participants to multiple teams within the mortgage loan and support process—including Sales, Underwriting, Operations, IT, Marketing, and more. The Foundational Team Member will spend the initial months gaining knowledge across all departments, working closely with START Team members and corporate leaders to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the mortgage process.

Responsibilities
  • Learn daily functions and responsibilities of each business unit.
  • Participate in hands‑on experience in each team, shadow teammates, and propose process improvements.
  • Understand the entire mortgage process from loan submission to closing.
  • Develop an understanding of inter‑departmental collaboration and communication.
  • Learn and efficiently use the systems and platforms employed by the company.
  • Build long‑lasting relationships with team members and leadership.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands / Environment

The work environment is primarily office‑based. The position requires the execution of complex tasks under tight deadlines and the flexibility to work evenings and weekends. Field work may be required, with moderately frequent travel.
