Position: Health Information Management Analyst I - Document Imaging and QA

The Health Information Management Analyst I is responsible for providing quality assurance audits of imaged documents within medical records. This role ensures that all medical information is accurately indexed and meets the required standards for image quality. The analyst assists internal and external customers in accessing correct medical document content and supports the imaging and quality assurance processes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform quality assurance checks on images for Point of Care (POC) scanning and vendor scanning.
  • Upload and index documents originating in the Trinity Health system.
  • Query MiChart, OnBase, and legacy systems to ensure documents are accurate and properly indexed.
  • Work in OnBase work queues to ensure documentation quality and completeness.
  • Ensure compliance with naming conventions in OnBase and MiChart.
  • Assist with technical testing of OnBase and MiChart functionality and perform validation and reconciliation activities.
  • Attend and participate in education and staff meetings to expand job-related knowledge and skills.
  • Communicate with unit leadership on processes and procedures.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining unit training materials, policies, and procedures.
  • Comply with regulatory and accreditation requirements and assure compliance with safety programs.
  • Maintain proficiency with job-related tools and clinical and administrative applications.
  • Track daily metrics and performance activity.
  • Meet departmental quality and productivity standards and contribute to continuous quality improvement processes.
  • Provide imaging support and issue resolution for customers and troubleshoot common problems, escalating complex issues to supervisors.
Qualifications
  • An Associate's degree in health information technology (HIT) and current certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) OR 2 years of work experience in a healthcare setting working with an electronic health record (EHR).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze medical information, and use, create, and modify electronic forms.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills are required for effective interactions with patients, families, clinicians, and staff.
  • Knowledge of healthcare accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Extensive experience using Microsoft and Adobe applications. Including, but not limited to Acrobat, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using UMHS information systems/applications (e.g., MiChart, IRIS, OnBase) is desirable.
