Job SummaryAssist the surgical team in the Cardiovascular Center operating rooms by preparing sterile equipment, passing instruments, sponges, sutures, and assisting with inventory and sterilization. Support patient transfers, turnover of instruments to CSR/Decontamination, and placing equipment back in place. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Responsibilities- Prepare and select sterile equipment for procedures.
- Pass instruments, sponges, and sutures to the operative team.
- Assist with inventory and sterilization of instruments.
- Transfer patients as needed and support turnover of instruments to CSR/Decontamination.
- Place equipment back in its designated location.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited or military Surgical Technologist program.
- Commitment to a positive department culture.
- Call commitment with a 30‑minute response rate.
- Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
- Experience as a Surgical Technologist.
- Ability to scrub cardiac, general thoracic and vascular cases.
- Experience with family‑centered care philosophy.

Full time, 40 hrs. Day shift with afternoon/night shift rotation, including midnight, weekend and holiday on‑call/shift obligations.
