ShiftShifts available: 7 am–3:30 pm; 3 pm–11:30 pm; 11 pm–7:30 am.
StatusFull-time, Part-time.
Position PurposePatient companions (sitters, attendants) perform specific patient care activities as assigned by the patient's RN, considering age‑specific, developmental, cultural, and spiritual needs. Patient companions remain with, and observe the assigned patient at all times; the patient must be in direct observation. Companions arrange meal and break times with the patient's nurse to ensure the patient is never unattended.
Responsibilities- Setting up food tray, assist with eating.
- Assisting patient with basic hygiene needs (bathing, brushing teeth).
- Offering fluids.
- Accompanying patient on walks.
- Assisting patient to bathroom or chair.
- Providing diversionary activities.
- Replacing nasal cannula.
- Re‑applying intermittent compression devices (ICDs or SCDs).
- Education:
High school diploma and CPR or BLS Certification. - Experience:
Ability to maintain professionalism and self‑control in difficult or stressful conditions.
