With one in 36 children diagnosed with autism, this entry‑level job is in big demand. As a Behavior Technician at Total Spectrum, you’ll help children with autism learn, grow, and build communication, socialization, and self‑help skills through play‑based therapy known as applied behavior analysis (ABA).

Benefits- Full‑time staff can earn up to 15 days of paid time off (PTO) after 90 days of employment.
- Part‑time staff are eligible for sick leave.
- Schedule:
Part‑time with potential to move to full‑time; hours 8 am‑7 pm EST Monday‑Friday, with possible weekends and evenings. - Starting pay at $18.00/hr, increasing with experience.
Working as a Behavior Technician requires the following characteristics:
- A genuine desire to help children with autism and their families reach their goals.
- A steady supply of compassion, empathy, enthusiasm, kindness, goodwill, and reliability.
- A willingness to learn about autism, learning differences, and ABA.
- Age 18 or older on the first day of employment.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle.
- Consistent weekly schedule—mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings.
- Background check clearance.
- Physical ability to push, pull, and lift up to 35 pounds; sit, stoop, stand, walk, run, and engage on the floor.
- Bi‑lingual (English/Spanish fluency).
- Studied, majored, or minored in psychology, education, special education, childcare, behavioral health, health science, or related field.
- Experience working with children (babysitter, nanny, tutor, teacher, coach, camp counselor, or similar).
- Desire to gain training and skills for a career in behavior analysis, behavioral health, teaching, occupational therapy, speech‑language pathology, counseling, mental health, or parenting.
- Commitment to creating lasting, positive change for children and families.
Physical requirements vary by client assignment. You may be required to push, pull, and lift up to 35 pounds, and move quickly. It is necessary to sit on the floor, stoop, stand, walk, and run.
