Patient Care Technician
Job Title
Under direct supervision from a Registered Nurse or other designated supervision, provides direct patient care or miscellaneous technical support by performing delegated procedures of a specialized and technical nature.
Responsibilities include setting up and monitoring specialized clinical equipment, performing delegated clinical or laboratory procedures, obtaining chemstrips, intermittent straight cath, Foley care/removal, assisting with admitting and discharge procedures, and more.
The role also involves observation/monitoring, specimen collection, intravenous lines, patient ADLs, tube feedings, urinary catheters, enemas/suppositories, wound care, respiratory care, other interventions, and environment maintenance.
Required qualifications include graduation from high school or equivalent and the ability to perform a wide range of physical activities. Desired qualifications include completion of a Certified Nurse Aide or Certified Medical Assistant program, basic computer skills, and coursework in an Allied Health field.
