As a family‑owned company, we look beyond short‑term moves and work to create a vision that is forward‑thinking for our people, our clients, and the world at large.

We are looking for a DITA XML Technical Writer to join Endress+Hauser Optical Analysis, the global leader in Raman spectroscopy, tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS), and quenched fluorescence (QF) instrumentation for laboratory, process, and manufacturing environments. Our laser‑based analyzer systems perform high‑performance chemical composition and concentration measurement of all phases of matter in any installation environment.

What is the role about?

The DITA XML Technical Writer is a key contributor to the Technical Communications team, collaborating with subject matter experts (scientists, engineers, production teams) and cross‑functional stakeholders. This role works with a team to support our transition from legacy systems to a structured authoring environment, ensuring consistent, high‑quality content across platforms and optimizing documentation for digital consumption.

Which essential functions will you perform?

  • Develop content optimized for AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), including prompt engineering and semantic clarity.
  • Lead terminology management for Optical Analysis technologies by researching standards, developing concept maps, and ensuring consistency across instrumentation.
  • Lead and contribute to product documentation projects (operating instructions, installation guides, safety documentation).
  • Collaborate with SMEs and cross‑functional teams to gather, validate, and ensure accuracy of technical information for global markets.
  • Conduct peer reviews and ensure compliance with corporate standards.
  • Maintain version control and release content information via ERP or document control system.
  • Manage product‑related content in the product information management (PIM) system, including specifications, descriptions, and technical attributes.
  • Support translation workflows to ensure multilingual content quality.
  • Track project progress using project management tools.
  • Audit existing product content and recommend improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency within CCMS and PIM systems.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and technology changes relevant to the role.
  • Participate in global teams and networking initiatives to foster cross‑entity collaboration.

What qualifications are needed?

  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, with a demonstrated record of accomplishment in a global business environment.
  • Ability to work independently and build trust across diverse teams and departments.
  • Skilled at gathering, organizing, and documenting technical information from a variety of sources.
  • Ability to interpret scientific texts and engineering drawings into clear, user‑friendly language.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
