The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services.
Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.
Summary Continuous improvement of spares demand forecast process:
Our business supports a wide range of spare parts profiles; from nuts and bolts to highly sophisticated optics/lasers/high precision mechanical devices/etc. This role will play a key role in improving our parts forecasting processes by analyzing data, refining forecasting models, and collaborating across teams to enhance accuracy and decision‑making.
- Perform forecast accuracy analysis to identify patterns and areas for improvement.
- Diagnose system forecast issues and recommend overrides to improve accuracy or mitigate risk.
- Analyze demand characteristics across different fleet segments (e.g., customers, products, entitlements).
- Partner with the planning team to refine forecast processes and apply overrides where appropriate.
- Work with the system integration team to enhance the forecasting algorithm(s) based on insights.
- Review findings with part planners and engineering to validate assumptions and raise product awareness.
- Conduct part survival analysis using methods like Kaplan‑Meier survival analysis and/or similar methods and apply survival regression models to predict future survivability.
- Build demand forecasts for critical parts using insights from survival and demand analysis, leveraging available forecasting tools.
- Develop scalable demand sampling approaches for Monte Carlo simulations to evaluate logistics and customer experience.
- Support the development and refinement of forecasting tools to incorporate analytical insights.
- Ensure sampled demand reflects fleet‑wide characteristics based on historical data for simulation and planning purposes.
- Educational background in Data Science, Data Analytics, IT or related.
- Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Military or related industry experience required.
- Experience with writing SQL is a plus.
- Experience with Snowflake is a plus.
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc), experience with the Power BI / Power Pivot DAX language is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree with +5 years’ work experience, OR Master’s degree with +3 years’ work experience.
