Business Intelligence Analyst

Location: Ann Arbor, MI

Location: Hybrid (3 Days Onsite in Ann Arbor, MI)

Salary: $120,000 Additional Compensation

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Business Intelligence Analyst to drive data-driven decision-making across our organization. This role is a key technical and strategic position, serving as the subject matter expert for our Microsoft BI environment and directly supporting senior leadership.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of BI solutions, from backend data modeling and technical development to front-end visualization and strategic user engagement.

• End-to-End Power BI Ownership:
  Own the full technical lifecycle of Power BI solutions, including data source identification, data modeling, ETL/ELT, report development, and deployment in a cloud BI environment.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
  Act as the primary liaison between business leaders and data, sitting with users (including C-level executives) to deeply understand their challenges and translate complex business questions into technical data and reporting requirements.
• Microsoft Ecosystem & ERP Focus:
  Develop and maintain specialized reports and dashboards drawing data from core Microsoft systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms. Proactively investigate and confirm data source availability across our MS and ERP landscape.
• Technical Development:
  Design and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures to support both modern BI dashboards and traditional operational/ad‑hoc reporting needs (bringing "old school" SQL skills to modern data needs).
• Solution Design & Sensitivity:
  Propose and implement data solutions that are robust, scalable, and highly sensitive to the end‑user experience, ensuring data insights are clear, actionable, and accessible.
• Power Platform Utilization:
  Leverage other components of the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, etc.) to enhance and automate BI solutions where applicable.

• Deep Expertise in Power BI:
  Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying highly optimized and visually compelling dashboards and data models using Microsoft Power BI.
• Advanced SQL Proficiency:
  Expert-level ability in writing, tuning, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries for data extraction, manipulation, and report creation.
• ERP/MS Systems
  
  Experience:
  
  Practical experience working with data sourced from Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and other key Microsoft business applications.
• Data Modeling & Warehousing:
  Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and strong data modeling skills (star schema, snowflake schema, etc.).
• Strong Communication:
  Exceptional verbal and presentation skills, with the proven ability to present complex technical information to non-technical business leaders and users.
• Problem-Solving & User Focus: A consulting mindset with a willingness to sit directly with end-users to troubleshoot issues, gather requirements, and devise innovative data solutions.
• Work Arrangement:
  Willingness to be onsite 3 days per week
