Job SummaryThe
D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion is a 12‑story hospital that will house 264 private rooms capable of converting to intensive care, a state‑of‑the‑art neurosciences center, and high‑level specialty care services for cardiovascular and thoracic patients, along with advanced imaging. The 690,000‑square‑foot facility also features 20 surgical and three interventional radiology suites and will be constructed adjacent to the Frankel Cardiovascular Center, with bridge and tunnel connections to existing inpatient care facilities.
The 9th floor of the Pavilion will be a 48‑bed acute and moderate care unit providing care to many patient populations, including adults undergoing major reconstructive and microvascular procedures, neurosurgical procedures, and other head and neck, vascular, and thoracic surgeries. The unit serves as the home unit for Otolaryngology, Oral Maxillofacial, Neuro/Ortho surgical, and Vascular services.
ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care to adults who have recently undergone procedures such as total laryngectomy, tracheostomy, glossectomy, and other head and neck cancer surgeries, as well as vascular procedures including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and carotid endarterectomy.
Required Qualifications- Current Michigan RN license for all candidates that have passed the NCLEX.
- Graduate Nurse applicants (GN) will be considered. Selected GN candidates must have 45 days from hire date to successfully pass the NCLEX for Michigan RN licensure.

- BSN preferred.
- One (1) year telemetry experience.
- Experience and comfort with tracheostomies and suctioning.
- 36 hours per week, nights, 12‑hour shifts.

Hourly range for Registered Nurses: $41.78 – $64.81 per hour.
- Evening Shift Differential: $3.00 per hour
- Night Shift Differential: $4.00 per hour
- Day Shift Weekend Differential: $2.90 per hour
- Evening Shift Weekend Differential: $5.90 per hour
- Night Shift Weekend Differential: $6.90 per hour
- Charge Nurse Differential: $1.00 per hour

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Michigan and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U‑M Professional Nurse Council union, which settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
