Registered Nurse RN - Radiation Oncology

Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse. The Radiation Oncology RN provides quality patient care through competent practice and application of the nursing process in an outpatient setting. Contingent position. Eight-hour, Day shift, no weekends, and no holidays. The selected candidate will support our Radiation Oncology offices covering scheduled and unscheduled absences and support locations in Ann Arbor, Brighton, Canton, Chelsea, and Livonia.

• Accept accountability for coordination of the nursing care of specific patients with complex medical and nursing needs as directed by the MDs within the department of radiation oncology.
• Serve as a clinical resource to others within the cancer program and function in a consultative relationship with health team members.
• Under limited supervision, assess patients, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan. Interpret and perform complex patient-care procedures specific to your expertise.
• Act as a member of the Care Team and Support Team, functioning to achieve patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care.
• Assume responsibility and accountability for the care given to a designated group of patients for a specified time frame.

• Current Michigan Nursing License.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Effective January 1, 2013, all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire.
• Two years of experience; applicants with radiation oncology or general oncology experience encouraged to apply.
