- The unit cares for cardiac patients suffering from Heart attack, heart failure, arrhythmias, and various percutaneous interventions, in a progressive care setting.
- The Nurse Coordinator assumes delegated accountability from the Nurse Manager for operations, scheduling and staffing for a specified period. The Nurse Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in working with complex patients according to the unit's scope of practice and serves as a unit resource and leader. He/she demonstrates communication and conflict resolution skills for staff. Role model for Relationship Based Care.

Description
POSITION PURPOSE
- Registered Nurse to support the Surgical Neuro Trauma ICU and Surgical PCU (2 North).
- The unit cares for cardiac patients suffering from Heart attack, heart failure, arrhythmias, and various percutaneous interventions, in a progressive care setting.
- The Nurse Coordinator assumes delegated accountability from the Nurse Manager for operations, scheduling and staffing for a specified period. The Nurse Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in working with complex patients according to the unit's scope of practice and serves as a unit resource and leader. He/she demonstrates communication and conflict resolution skills for staff. Role model for Relationship Based Care.

- Patients admitted to the SNICU require intensive care monitoring including those with hemodynamic instability, compromised respiratory status, and neurological monitoring during post-operative hospitalization. The population includes cardiothoracic surgery, trauma, vascular, and general surgeries. The SNICU also treats serious neurological conditions like strokes and aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. It has expanded its neuroscience capabilities with a biplane and thrombectomy certification.
- Patients admitted to the Surgical PCU include pre- and post-surgical trauma patients in a progressive care setting.
- The Nurse Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in working with complex patients and serves as a unit leader and resource.
- They demonstrate communication and conflict resolution skills and serve as a role model for Relationship Based Care.
- The Nurse Coordinator leads daily operations, manages staffing and budget, participates in patient care, and mentors staff.
- Current Michigan Nursing License
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program: BSN required
- Minimum of three years of staff experience
- One-year related practice experience in a clinical area
