$35.64 PLUS Daily PAY

Position Purpose

The 6 East Cardiac Intensive Care Unit/Progressive Care Unit:
Critically ill patients recovering from acute MI, Cardiogenic shock, CHF, cardiac arrest, and various percutaneous interventions;
Cardiac patients suffering from Heart attack, heart failure, arrhythmias, and various percutaneous interventions, in a progressive care setting.

Treatment Team

Consists of RNs, Patient Care Techs on day shift.

Patient Population

Critically ill patients with ST elevation MI, unstable post cardiac procedure, Cardiogenic shock, Cardiac Arrest requiring hypothermia, or any hemodynamically unstable patients requiring pressors or patients requiring the Impella device or an IABP.

RN Requirements

RN’s are required to take Critical Care Core classes or test out. Also, ACLS required.

Required Qualifications Education

Graduation from a school of nursing that results in the ability of the graduate to sit for the NCLEX exam to become licensed as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.

Licensure
  • Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • BLS.
  • ACLS required for the following departments:
    Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency.
Experience

Experienced Canadian Registered Nurses are encouraged to apply.

  • Graduation from accredited nursing program.
  • Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role.
  • Knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and age specific needs.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
  • Critical thinking skills necessary to perform principal duties and responsibilities of job description.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care.
