Hourly range for Registered Nurses: $41.78-$64.81/hour
- Evening Shift Differential – $3.00/hour
- Night Shift Differential – $4.00/hour
- Day Shift Weekend Differential – $2.90/hour
- Evening Shift Weekend Differential – $5.90/hour
- Night Shift Weekend Differential – $6.90/hour
- Charge Nurse Differential – $1.00/hour

The staff of the Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital Postpartum‑Newborn unit are committed to the care of postpartum mothers and newborns in an environment that supports and empowers families. Common diagnoses include vaginal or assisted birth, cesarean birth, post‑operative and re‑admission patients, multiple birth, newborn complications (e.g., hypoglycemia, transient tachypnea of the newborn, jaundice, sepsis, poor feeding), procedures (e.g., circumcision), health screening, pain and comfort management, and identification of and intervention for postpartum and newborn complications in the mother‑baby setting.
Postpartum‑Newborn nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. They work in collaboration with and lead clerical staff, patient care technicians, and students. In addition to general nursing care, responsibilities include adherence to VVWH Nursing Standards of Care and AWHONN Standards; upholding the Mission, Vision, and Values of Michigan Medicine; following all policies, guidelines, procedures and processes;
and participating in professional leadership opportunities on the unit (e.g., unit committees, charge nurse, new employee orientation pre‑cepting, teaching classes and in‑services).
- Ability to work up to 40 hours/week on Day shift (7 a.m.–3:30 p.m.) or A‑shift (7 a.m.–7:30 p.m.) during orientation
- Successfully complete Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) credentialing within the first three (3) months
- Support and promote VVWH values to empower each other to interrupt or disrupt disrespect; practice beneficial, kind, and true communication; inspire and be inspired by colleagues; cultivate respect for oneself and others routinely, publicly and privately.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
- Two (2) years of current experience as an RN working inpatient Mother/Baby, Postpartum, Medical‑Surgical, Labor & Delivery, LDR or LDRP setting
- Resume required for both internal and external applicants.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree highly desired
- Certification in obstetrics, newborn or pediatric specialty
- Completion of the STABLE course
