Job SummaryWith minimal supervision, repair, calibrate, and maintain medical equipment and support systems of varying complexity at Michigan Medicine. This float position spans the University Hospital, Cardiovascular Center, Children’s and Women’s Hospital, and other off‑campus clinic locations, focusing on operating room coverage. Responsibilities include operating room, anesthesia, patient monitoring, and other assigned equipment.

Document work in the AIMS work order database. Identify and prepare parts and materials for repairs and preventive maintenance on assigned devices. Cross‑train other Biomedical Engineering Technicians. Work Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. at the main campus operating rooms, ambulatory clinics and surgery centers. A valid Michigan driver’s license is required.
Qualifications- Associate degree in biomedical engineering technology or equivalent military training.
- Knowledge and experience with advanced analog and digital electronics.
- Minimum eight years of experience repairing and maintaining medical equipment, preferably in a hospital environment.
Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
