One good relationship can be worth more than a hundred cold calls.
A plumber who repairs burst pipes regularly walks into water damage. A property manager with a few hundred units deals with leaks, fires, and mold more often than they'd like. An insurance agent hears about losses from clients all year long.
Each of them has to decide who to call when a property is damaged. Your job is to make sure the answer is you, before the damage ever happens.
That's the whole role: find the people who regularly run into property damage, earn their trust, and keep earning it. Do that consistently, and your pipeline keeps producing on its own.
How the Work Builds On Itself1. Find the right partners. Identify the businesses in your territory that run into property damage most often, and prioritize the ones worth the most time.
2. Earn the relationship. Get in the door through prospecting, cold outreach, networking, and in-person visits. Have consultative conversations about how they handle losses today rather than pitching a product.
3. Deliver through the team. When a referral comes in, our operations team handles the job. You stay close to the partner and work with operations and leadership to make sure the outcome reflects well on both of you.
4. Repeat and expand. A partner who's had a good experience sends the next job, and the one after that. Meanwhile, you're already working on the next relationship.
Over months, those partners add up to predictable, recurring deal flow that you built and that stays in your protected territory.
