Job description
Hardwood Flooring ApprenticeWe are currently seeking a Hardwood Flooring Apprentice to join our growing company, which specializes in installation, sanding, and refinishing of hardwood floors. If you enjoy diverse work and are interested in learning a trade, this could be the right opportunity for you. Our team works in pairs and typically moves to a new location weekly within the Washtenaw County area.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required.
- Travel daily to and from job sites within our coverage area.
- Arrive on time, prepared, and eager to learn.
- Follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Perform heavy lifting and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Maintain professionalism and a clean appearance.
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment.
Skills:
- Experience with Google apps such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, and Google Maps (or other GPS systems).
- Ability to clock in and out remotely via smartphone.
- Strong work ethic: punctuality, hardworking, pride in work, and receptive to feedback.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Ability to follow directions and steps provided.
- Positive attitude and great attention to detail.
- Polite and professional demeanor with clients and co-workers.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site.
- Good personal hygiene.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record for advancement.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening, as work involves working in clients' homes.
Skills:
- Basic carpentry skills.
- Experience with GPS time tracking systems like Time dock.
- Basic safety knowledge and familiarity with power tools.
- Competitive hourly wage: $15.00 - $17.00/hr.
- Potential for full-time placement.
- Part-time position required, with full-time opportunities available.
- Experience in basic construction trades preferred.
- Work authorization in the United States required.
- Benefits include paid time off and paid training.
- Schedule:
8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday. - Minimum 1 year of construction experience preferred.
- Driver's license required.
- Multiple locations.
