Our client, an industry-leading organization is seeking a Mid-Level AI Engineer to join their team. As a Mid-Level AI Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering organization supporting AI product and platform teams. The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering fundamentals, hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML or Generative AI applications, and the drive to deliver production-ready features with quality, reliability, and responsible AI practices.

Location:Ann Arbor, MI
Pay Range:$50-$54/hr
What's the Job?- Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-enabled applications and services that support real business outcomes.
- Build and integrate Generative AI solutions using large language models (LLMs), including prompt and tool orchestration.
- Develop AI agents, workflows, prompts, tools, and orchestration frameworks that can operate reliably in production.
- Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), semantic search, and knowledge retrieval solutions to improve answer quality and relevance.
- Evaluate, benchmark, and optimize AI model performance, quality, cost, and latency while adding automated testing, monitoring, and observability.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of software development experience, with 2+ years building AI/ML or Generative AI applications.
- Strong programming skills in one or more of:
Python, Java, C#, Type Script/JavaScript. - Experience developing REST APIs and distributed services, including cloud experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals including design patterns, testing, CI/CD, security, and observability.
- Work on scalable AI solutions using modern machine learning, generative AI, agent frameworks, and enterprise engineering practices.
- Build production-ready AI features with guidance from senior engineers and architects while owning delivery.
- Collaborate across software engineering, product, architecture, and data teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Contribute to responsible AI, security, privacy, and governance controls within AI applications.
- Support AI applications in production, including troubleshooting and incident resolution.
