Early Childhood Lead Teacher

We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and dedicated Early Childhood Lead Teacher to join our team in Annandale, VA. In this role, you will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children aged 2 to 3 years old can explore, learn, and grow. You will design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development while building strong partnerships with families.

In this role, you will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children aged 2 to 3 years old can explore, learn, and grow. You will design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development while building strong partnerships with families.

• Observe working hours from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
• Design and implement a play-based curriculum focusing on early literacy, socialization, motor skills, and creative expression.
• Assess and document each child's developmental progress, sharing regular updates and milestones with parents and guardians.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and highly organized classroom environment that complies with Virginia state licensing standards.
• Guide children through positive behavior redirection and support early milestones such as potty training and self-help skills.

• At least 1-2 years of experience working as a lead or assistant teacher in a licensed childcare facility with toddlers.
• Up-to-date CPR and First Aid certifications, or a willingness to obtain them prior.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff and families.
• Ability to clear all Virginia state-mandated background checks and fingerprinting processes.
• Doctor certification and negative TB test

• Part-time hours from November 1, 2026, through middle June 2027
• Morning preschool only, daily hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:30 a.m.

Ravensworth Baptist PDO Preschool program was established in 1970 as an outreach ministry to families in the surrounding community and continues strong today. We are an inclusive community and welcome families from all faiths, race, color, and ethnic backgrounds. The play-based preschool program provides an environment in which each child's natural enthusiasm and self-esteem can blossom. Our play curriculum is designed to foster intellectual as well as physical, emotional, and social development.

All teachers at the school are experienced in preschool education and/or have a degree/credentials from an accredited college or university. Teachers participate in annual continuing education classes and are certified in First Aid and CPR. Our teachers are loving, nurturing, and dedicated to the safety and well-being of each child.
