Title City Teen Coordinator (Annapolis) Department Workforce Development & Teen Initiatives Non-Exempt
Primary Function
The City Teen Coordinator is responsible for implementing programs and activities aimed at engaging and supporting teen members (ages 13‑18) across 3 Boys & Girls Club locations. The role oversees multiple teen initiatives while building meaningful connections with teens, families, and partners. The coordinator must be a dynamic facilitator, trusted mentor, and strategic collaborator who can manage both youth development programming and administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Program Development & Implementation- Plans and delivers engaging, age‑appropriate programs focused on healthy lifestyles, academic success, good character, and workforce readiness.
- Coordinate and lead multiple seasonal initiatives for teens throughout the school year.
- Organizes and leads one teen‑focused special event, activity, or community collaboration each month.
- Participates in special programs, events, and other projects as directed by the Workforce Development & Teen Initiatives Director or Director of Operations.
- Assists with the implementation of the Teen Pathways program.
- Participates in training/educational opportunities to expand knowledge and skills including attending and completing BGCA leadership university courses.
- Maintains a consistent Club presence 3–4 days a week during after school hours (4 PM – 8 PM) and occasional weekends.
- Conducts outreach to increase teen awareness and participation in Club programs and opportunities.
- Serves as liaison and lead facilitator for teen‑focused partnerships as assigned.
- Leads recruitment and retention of teens (ages 12–18) across three after school club sites in Annapolis.
- Work with community partners to provide opportunities for teens to explore new interests and develop valuable skills.
- Represent the Club at community events, meetings, and forums to enhance visibility and engagement.
- Orients new members to teen programs, special events, and opportunities as well as to club safety, program and disciplinary rules.
- Promotes a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all teen participants.
- Lead the facilitation of specific teen programs and support Youth Development Professional.
- Assists with the supervision of participants in the Teen Pathways program.
- Addresses behavioral issues promptly and in compliance with BGCAA policies and procedures.
- Encourage teens to take on leadership roles within the Club and their broader communities, empowering them to be active and engaged citizens.
- Act as a mentor and role model to teen members, providing guidance and support in their academic, social, and personal development.
- Collaborates with Club staff to ensure teen programming aligns with organizational goals and meets member needs.
- Collaborates with Club staff to identify opportunities for teen program expansion and growth.
- Ensures a productive work environment by participating in club staff meetings.
- Tracks teen attendance and engagement to help measure program impact and support continuous improvement.
- Administrative functions including daily tracking, incident documentation, parent/community communications, and monthly reporting.
- Use data and feedback to assess program effectiveness and make adjustments to improve overall impact.
- Clean Club spaces assigned.
- Participate in special programs and events.
- Required to drive Club vehicles.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
Relationships
- Internal:
Maintain regular contact with Workforce & Teens Director, Club Director, Club staff, Club members and parents, to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions. - External:
Establish & maintain contact and good public relations with external community groups, schools, members’ parents/guardians, building and community partners and others as necessary to maintain and grow a successful teen program.
