Key School seeks classroom substitute teachers for all content areas across all four divisions (age 2.5-Grade 12). Substitutes are responsible for fulfilling a teacher’s lesson plan and ensuring students learn the material in a supportive, collaborative, and positive environment. Substitute teachers are compensated for a full or half day, depending on the coverage needed.

- Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree and have experience working in a classroom setting.

- Candidates should indicate the grades and subjects they are qualified to teach in their cover letter and on our internal application.
The ability to navigate stairs as part of daily routines; mobility around a small campus with uneven pavement; bending and squatting as required to participate in activities; lifting/carrying boxes up to 25 pounds; and the ability to rearrange furniture for activities is occasionally required.
About the SchoolFounded in 1958 by professors from St. John’s College, Key School engages children from 2.5 years of age through grade 12 in a progressive, coeducational, college-preparatory program on its picturesque 15‑acre campus 4 miles from downtown Annapolis.
