We are hiring educators to teach in the following subject areas: CTE Teacher.
As an educator in our Juvenile Services Central Region, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our youth and contributing to the betterment of our community. QualificationsCandidates with secondary education certifications (Conditional, Standard Professional, Advanced Professional, Advanced Professional +30, or Advanced Professional +60) in all endorsement areas are welcome to apply. If you do not currently hold an active Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) certification, you are required to complete and submit an application for certification before applying. Selective Qualifications- Must possess a MSDE Secondary Education Educators Certification.

Main Purpose of Job- Create a Supportive Learning Environment Establish a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom atmosphere where students feel respected, valued, and motivated to engage in learning.
- Develop and Deliver Engaging Instruction Design and implement dynamic lesson plans tailored to the diverse needs, learning styles, and abilities of students, fostering both academic growth and personal development.
- Employ Effective Teaching Strategies Utilize a variety of instructional methodologies, strategies, and technologies to enhance student engagement and create meaningful learning experiences.
- Monitor and Support Student Progress Conduct regular assessments, both formative and summative, to evaluate student progress, provide constructive feedback, and offer individualized support to ensure academic success.
- Collaborate with a Multidisciplinary Team Work closely with social workers, counselors, administrators, and other professionals to create comprehensive plans that address individual student challenges and promote overall success.
- Promote Restorative Practices Implement restorative approaches and conflict resolution techniques to cultivate positive relationships among students and foster accountability, responsibility, and personal growth.
- Serve as a Mentor and Role Model Demonstrate empathy, patience, and understanding while encouraging positive behavior, responsible decision-making, and resilience.
- Engage with Families and Guardians Maintain open and consistent communication with students’ families or guardians, providing updates on academic performance, behavior, and any concerns, while fostering a partnership for student success.
- Stay Informed on Educational Best Practices Remain current with the latest research, strategies, and interventions in youth education, continuously refining teaching methods to meet the evolving needs of students.
