We are seeking three dedicated Part‑Time Special Education Teachers to join our team. Under the guidance of the Special Education Program Administrator, you will provide high‑quality services to students in grades K–12. This role emphasizes collaboration with general education staff to support student success through specialized instruction, tutoring, and consultation.
Schedule- Afternoon
Hours:
4:00 PM – 6:00 PM - Weekly Commitment: 10–20 hours (10–15 face‑to‑face hours + 1 hour/day for IEP planning)
- IEP Meetings:
May be conducted virtually; assessments must be in person - Optional Saturday Hours
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Valid Maryland Teaching License (no conditional or provisional licenses)
- Certification Types (preferred):
- Standard Elementary Teaching
- Standard Secondary Teaching
- Standard Special Teaching
- Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Minimum 1 year of teaching experience (preferred)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Age 18+
- Additional Requirements:
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
- Current health certificate (as required)
- MD 486, CPS, FP, MSDE credentialing
- Conduct early childhood assessments to determine special education eligibility
- Administer the PATEL Mental Inventory
- Collaborate with up to 5 professionals during assessments (typically 2–3), plus family and child
- Work with children ages 3–5
- Use MD Relay online for EMR/charting
- Maintain a 1:1 student ratio
