This position instructs prospective parents and grandparents in infant care, self-care following delivery, or breast‑feeding an infant according to guidelines established by the perinatal unit.

• Teaches class covering all points on established outline, allowing sufficient time for class participation.
• Plans and prepares class materials according to established routine. Registers clients and documents incentives according to guidelines.
• Performs evaluation responsibilities and participates in quality improvement process.
• Obtains needed supplies and equipment for class. Cleans teaching area and returns supplies and equipment to proper storage area after class.
• Communicates as necessary to coordinator or appropriate CHP staff and attends instructor meetings as scheduled by coordinator.

• BSN required.
• At least six months experience in Maternal‑Child Health or Certificate in Early Childhood curriculum and Development.
• One year experience working with children under the age of two.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills.

• Current licensure as an RN.
• Certificate in Early Childhood curriculum and Development preferred.
